Why I Support UNCF: Frank Baker

Frank Baker, co-founder and managing partner of Siris Capital Group, is a dedicated supporter of UNCF. He explains why it is important to help the next generation fulfill its dream of a college education.

Frank Baker is a co-founder and managing partner of Siris Capital Group, LLC, the predecessor fund of which was formed in 2006. Siris is a middle-market private equity firm focused on deep value, control equity investments around special situations in the telecom, technology and technology-enabled business service sectors. Prior to forming Siris, Baker was a managing director at Ripplewood Holdings, LLC, a global private equity firm. Baker started his career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs & Co. in the mergers and acquisitions group. Baker has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago. He is a trustee of The University of Chicago, a board member of the Sponsors for Educational Opportunity and a board of directors member for Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights.

“Three words are incredibly powerful: learn, earn and return. If we can get that right, we can dramatically change our community.”
