UNCF CPI Summer Undergraduate Internship Accepting Applications

Apply by February 15

The UNCF Career Pathways Initiative ®(CPI) is now accepting applications for a Data Analytics Intern and Program Management Intern for the 2019 summer. Interns must be current students at one of UNCF CPI’s 24 institutions (see list below). Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program in any major. Applications must be received by Friday, Feb. 15.

Experience: Work for nine weeks (May 20- July 26, 2019) in an organization focused on supporting and advocating for historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). Selected interns will work specifically with UNCF’s CPI, a $50 million program that seeks to strengthen career outcomes between HBCUs, PBIs and the workforce.

Stipend: Interns will receive a $3,000 stipend and housing for the summer.

Travel: All travel expenses associated with traveling to and from UNCF and UNCF events (including the UNCF Student Leadership Conference) for the duration of this internship will be covered by UNCF.

Orientation(Tuesday, May 21, 2019): Interns will participate in an all-day on-site training that exposes them to the mission and vision of UNCF, and meet with members of the UNCF Executive and UNCF ICB/CPI teams.

Internship Placement: Following the orientation, interns will be placed with CPI team members that will provide guidance and supervision as interns work on program related projects in the areas of Data Analytics and Program Management. Additionally, interns will participate in four lunch-and-learn Fridays, where they will hear from UNCF team members across departments and learn about several positions and functions within the organization, and nonprofits in general.

2019 CPI Summer Convening: All interns will have an opportunity to participate in the 2018 CPI Annual Meeting and Data Institute.

Closing Meeting (July 26, 2019): Interns will participate in a professional development day, spending time updating their resume, creating cover letters, drafting recommendations, and creating an online portfolio reflective of the internship experience. Interns will also complete evaluations detailing their individual reflections of the internship experience.
