Journalist Ed Gordon Spoke at UNCF Detroit’s MLK Celebration

Detroit held its 27th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration Brunch on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Whittier in Detroit.  Despite the cold and snowy weather, the event attracted close to 250 guests and was hosted by the Detroit Inter-Alumni Council. The guest speaker, Emmy Award-winning journalist, Ed Gordon, delivered a powerful speech on Dr. King’s vision and impact and relevance today.  He also talked about UNCF’s 75 years of impact on African American education and the importance of making sure that the community continues to support the organization. The event is targeted to raise $55,000.
