Job Description

The position inputs and records donor and prospect data and information into existing systems and analyzes assigned information for accuracy, completeness and appropriate categorization. Assists in resolving information issues in database including serving as a point of contact regarding donor and prospect information in the database.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Inputs and records donor and prospect data and information into the UNCF database systems and the web
  • Maintains daily transactions audit log regarding assignments and participates in assigned audits performed by internal and external audits for the organization
  • Performs daily quality control and assurance checks and balances in assigned tasks within the database; keeps records that provide audit trails, accurate reporting on actions taken and summary reports
  • Assists in providing documentation to help inform management of the status of assignments and current quality assurance systems in place for developed programs and addresses donor issues as assigned
  • Assists in identifying data and informational issues and may serve as point of contact for Area Office questions
  • Tests new functional changes to database under the direction of the National Director after full training and prior to implementation
  • Assists with documenting system procedures and provides timely reports on any system failures
  • Maintains proficiency in pertinent applications, communication and operating systems by attending approved training programs
  • Provides technical assistance to assigned Area Offices as assigned
  • Provides assistance and reports as requested


  • High school diploma; Associate’s degree (computer technology or computer science) or equivalent from a technical school preferred with related experience or equivalent education and experience
  • At least 3 years data entry experience preferably with non-profit databases and Raiser’s Edge

Additional Skills

  • Proficiency in data entry, quality control, reporting, customer service
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel)
  • Ability to learn basic principles of a database program within a specified timeframe
  • Ability to do document prepping, validating, verifying and quality control forms
  • Ability to clearly convey thoughts and ideas to peers, management and customers
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and listening skills
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, good reading and comprehension skills
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Ability to work under pressure and thrive in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete them in a timely manner
