Job Description

The Associate Business Analyst plays an essential role on the Scholarships and Programs Operations team, providing day-to-day support and maintenance for the Salesforce (STAR), Enterprise Scholarship Application (ESA), and related systems. The Associate Business Analyst also supports internal and external constituents and works collaboratively with the Senior Business Analyst to identify, document, prioritize, and resolve related system issues.

The Associate Business Analyst is a self-starter and focused team player, with a unique ability to delineate user system requirements and processes and translate those requirements and processes into user-friendly solutions. The Associate Business Analyst is a naturally curious investigative problem-solver, focused on supporting Scholarships and Programs Operations technology in maximizing its current system-related business processes to ensure system maturation and user productivity. The position requires strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as demonstrated interest in supporting and cultivating the transformation scholar/award data into powerful information to be leveraged by UNCF stakeholders to increase overall scholarship program management efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities and Duties

Supports Salesforce (STAR) Platform:

  • Provides assistance and user support for the Salesforce CRM and related third-party solutions management
  • Proficiency in, or knowledge of Salesforce administrative tasks including, and not limited to, profiles, roles, security, workflows, validation rules, approvals, formulas, custom objects, reports, and dashboards
  • Supports email solutions (including, but not limited to, Vertical Response and Mailgun)
  • Supports report, dashboard, and list view configurations for Scholarships and Programs end-users
  • Supports Scholarships and Programs reports using various reporting tools and technologies
  • Conducts and supports routine data clean-up tasks following best practices to ensure data integrity, including, but not limited to, de-duping, address updates, and related data clean-up 
  • Assists in training staff and end-users and participates in creating documentation, user manuals related to the use of Salesforce 

Supports home-grown Enterprise Scholarship Application (ESA) system:

  • Monitors, tracks, and documents system performance 
  • Analyzes user-reported bugs and researches issues for potential root-cause(s) system issues 
  • Provides system maintenance and quality assurance to ensure user satisfaction 
  • Supports regular system upgrades, patch management and user acceptance testing (UAT) 
  • Assists in user training and participates in creating documentation, user manuals, and artifacts 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university;
  • IT Project Management preferred, and minimum three years of experience in related field ​

  • Naturally curious, investigative problem-solver and capable researcher 
  • Familiarity or experience working closely within team settings in a non-profit or similar organization 
  • Proficiency with report design and development 
  • Ability to prepare and present analysis in a professional format 
  • Experience with and an ability to adjust to new IT solutions and platforms
