Dr. Wendell H. Joice, Ph.D., Retired Research Psychologist
“I recently established the June and Wylie Selden Memorial Scholarship Program to provide annual scholarships to four-year college students. June and Wylie, the couple in this photo—my aunt and uncle—shared UNCF’s mission, and this gift is their legacy of support for educational opportunity and advancement. June was an educator in the Washington, DC, school system, and Wylie, one of the original Tuskegee Airmen, worked at Howard University, and after retirement, gave lectures focused on the Airmen.

“They wanted their legacy to continue their support of educational opportunity and advancement. I was honored to initiate this scholarship program on their behalf.”
