Greg Lyles

As area development director for UNCF, Gregory L. Lyles is responsible for fundraising strategy and execution for the Philadelphia area which includes the region of Pennsylvania, Delaware, West Virginia and Southern New Jersey.  

Before coming to UNCF, Greg was executive director of Haddington Multi Services For Older Adults, located in West Philadelphia. He was responsible for the leadership, strategic direction, business development and operations of the organization.

Greg also served as development director for the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania (UWSEPA) and his primary responsibility was to build strong relationships and grow the base of support. During his tenure, he secured over $12.5 million dollars in campaign contributions. Before joining UWSEPA, Greg was executive director of the West Philadelphia YMCA, where he led all aspects of the operation, including staff appointments, membership and program development, comprehensive fundraising initiatives, customer service and community relations. He spearheaded the turnaround and completion of a $3.2 million, 42,000 square-foot building renovation and expansion project, streamlined planning and resources while he re-focused organizational priorities. Between 1983 and 2003, Greg served in several positions with Cradle of Liberty Council and Boy Scouts of America.

Greg has served on the boards of many organizations including Comcast Community Advisory Board, the University of Pennsylvania, the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars, the Philadelphia Area Research Community Coalition, the R.O.S.E. Foundation of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. – Phi Beta Omega Chapter, Claflin University National Alumni Chapter, UNCF Inter-Alumni Council – Philadelphia Chapter and the Rotary Club of Media.

His contributions to the community have resulted in a variety of honors and awards. He was honored by the University of Pennsylvania "Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Community Award." He has also received the Philadelphia UNCF Chapter "Distinguished Leadership Award" and the Spruce Adolescent Counseling and Education Center Certificate of Commendation.

Greg earned a bachelor of science degree in marketing from UNCF-member Claflin University in Orangeburg, SC.
