Scholarship Detail:

Applicants must be male students majoring in one of the following fields: Engineering , Chemistry, Physics or Mathematical Sciences. In addition, applicants must be U.S. citizens and be applying to or accepted at an accredited college (excluding proprietary schools) in the United States.

Graduate Students must posses a 3.0 average and are eligible for an award of $3000.

NAACP membership and participation is desirable. A copy of evidence of NAACP membership must be mailed to UNCF.

Applicants must demonstrate financial need based on the following family income scale:

Required Materials:

Two letters of recommendations from a teacher or professor in the major field of Specialization. Letters must be typed on appropriate letterhead and must be directly uploaded to the online application by the recommenders.

One page essay - must be directly uploaded to the online application by the applicant.

Recent official Transcript

Evidence of full time enrollment - must be mailed to UNCF.

For Financial Verification, one of the following documents must be mailed to UNCF by the deadline of the program:

Student Aid Report (SAR) or

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or

Complete copy of parents' most recent Income Tax Form

Undergraduate applicant must be a full-time student. If a student drops below the required full-time status, the Scholarship Selection Committee will adjust the grant received to 50% of the award allocated for that semester. Graduate applicant may be a full or part-time student.

Members of the National NAACP Board of Directors, SCF Trustees, National Youth Work Committee, the NAACP Scholarship Selection Committee, employees and their spouses or families to the first degree of consanguinity are not eligible to apply for or receive this scholarship.
