Scholarship Detail: |
T-Mobile USA, Inc. and the United Negro College Fund have partnered to provide scholarships up to $4500 to selected students during the 2009-10 academic year. Scholars will be invited to participate in a 10-12 week summer internship. Scholarship dollars up to $4500 will be awarded to applicants based on performance upon completion of the summer internship in 2009. Students will be placed in the internship programs based on locations and functions. To be eligible for the T-Mobile Internship/Scholarship Program, students must meet the following criteria: - Be enrolled full-time at a four year college or university. - Be Business, Accounting/Finance, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering Computer Engineering, Human Resources or Management Information Systems major. - Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. -Be a junior at the time of application. -Students supported by a single parent household are strongly encouraged to apply for this opportunity. In Addition, students must: 1. Mail an official transcript. 2. Submit at least two letters of recommendation from community leader, i.e. Clergyman, Elected Official, School Administrator, School Teacher, Community Organization Officer, etc. that shows evidence of character, leadership and/or community services. 3. Submit an essay, double-spaced and no more than two pages, detailing on how getting an internship opportunity and receiving a scholarship award will bring the student closer to reaching future goals. |
