Internship Detail:
Applicant must be a current member of the NAACP. Applicant must submit a copy of their NAACP membership card or membership application to verify membership. Applicant must be a US citizen and enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States. Undergraduate applicant must be a full-time student. If a student drops below the required full-time status, the Scholarship Selection Committee will adjust the grant received to 50% of the award allocated for that semester. Graduate applicant may be a full or part-time student. Graduate students must possess a 3.0 average and are eligible for a $2500 award.

Applicants for the Agnes Jones Jackson Scholarship must not have reached the age of 25 by the application deadline.

Applicants must demonstrate financial need based on the following family income scale:

Family Size 1 - Income Limit $15,600:

Family Size 2 - Income Limit $21,000:

Family Size 3 - Income Limit $26,400:

Family Size 4 - Income Limit $31,800:

Family Size 5 - Income Limit $37,200:

Family Size 6 - Income Limit $42,600:

Family Size 7 - Income Limit $48,000:

Family Size 8 - Income Limit $53,400.

Required Materials:

1. Recent official transcript and evidence of full time enrollment - Must be mailed to UNCF by the progam deadline.

2. A copy of NAACP membership card or membership application - Must be mailed to UNCF by the progam deadline.

3. Three letters of recommendation (other than relatives): One personal reference, one academic reference and one NAACP reference from NAACP officials. The letters must be uploaded to the online application by the recommenders.

4. Essay - Must be directly uploaded to the online application.

5. For Financial Verification, one of the following materials/documents must be mailed to UNCF by the progam deadline:

a). Student Aid Report (SAR) or

b). Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or

c). Complete copy of parents' most recent Income Tax Form.

Renewals will not be automatic. For renewal consideration, past recipients will have to compete the online scholarship application. Additional information, such as the most recent cumulative grade point average, NAACP activities, as well as other civil rights activities, and academic awards, will be considered. The renewal award may be reduced or denied based on insufficient NAACP activities.

Members of the National NAACP Board of Directors, SCF Trustees, National Youth Work Committee, the NAACP Scholarship Selection Committee, employees and their spouses or families to the first degree of consanguinity are not eligible to apply for or receive this scholarship.
