Preparation and Financial Need: Understanding Impact on Persistence and Completion at HBCUs. The FDPRI is preparing a report examining factors that predict and account for student persistence and completion at HBCUs as compared to non-HBCUs. This will be first in a number of reports anticipated to arise for coinciding work on UNCF's 2011 statistical report. The analysis in this report will make sure data on college retention and graduation, as well as data on their academic background and financial need, and will include longitudinal examinations of how these indicators predict changes over time in student outcomes. The resulting report will expand our understanding of how students' academic financial preparedness contribute to student persistence, highlighting the unique contributions HBCUs are making toward fostering students' academic success.

Advisory Board Members. In addition to the talented group of staff and consultants who support the work of the FDPRI, we are fortunate to have a board of advisors with extensive knowledge and experience of education policy issues from early childhood through postsecondary education. (Read More)
