Historically Black Colleges and Universities: A Vital Resource for a Diverse and Competitive American Workforce
Historically Black Colleges and Universities: A Vital Resource for a Diverse and Competitive American Workforce
This report examines the need for a more educated workforce as both technology and globalization continue to influence our economy. It makes the case for increasing the numbers of underrepresented minorities completing postsecondary education in light of significant demographic shifts. Moreover, the report examines the role of historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in reaching national goals to graduate more minorities. Specifically, data are examined that highlight historic and contemporary success of these institutions as well as the unique challenges they face.
