UNCF seeks an Area Development Director (ADD) to lead its Richmond, VA Area Office. The ADD ) is responsible for conducting comprehensive, cost-
effective annual and as needed, capital, fund-raising campaigns within his/her area of operation to support the 39 UNCF institutions and serves as an ambassador for UNCF.

| RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES : |
The individual will be responsible for developing solicitation proposals for donors and prospects, designing and implementing special fundraising events, identifying, cultivating and maintaining and/or re-establishing relationships with current or lapsed donors. The ADD is also responsible for establishing and maintaining close, direct contact with local community, church and civic leaders to ensure top volunteer leadership.
Develop and execute a comprehensive annual fundraising action plan designed to raise unrestricted revenue, focusing on all fundraising sources, to include corporations, foundations, workplace, groups and organizations.
Identify and recruit campaign leaders and advisory council members. Maintain relationships with local corporations, government, community, church and civic leaders to ensure top volunteer leadership.
Develop and submit solicitation proposals for donors and prospects.
Plan and implement special fundraising events such as walkathons, super viewing parties, church campaigns and online giving.
Develop and prepare campaign materials, communication/promotional programs in support of local fund-raising efforts.
Manage area office to ensure compliance with UNCF policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Prepare reports and presents to regional and senior management.

| REQUIREMENTS : |
|
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university, Master's desired; with a minimum of seven to ten years of fundraising, sales/marketing or public relations experience.
Must be familiar with and have established contacts in the Richmond, VA Metro Area. |

| ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS : |
A minimum of seven years of fund-raising, marketing or public relations experience.
Experience cultivating, recruiting and managing donor relationships.
Strong new donor cultivation/recruitment experience at the $25,000+ level desired.
Experience recruiting and managing volunteer leadership.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to handle multiple activities and/or priorities simultaneously.
Territorial knowledge of local markets in the State of Virginia.
Previous development experience with annual giving programs and special events fund-raising.
Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
Previous experience with management of fund-raising data and reports.
