2016 UNCF Columbus Walk for Education

The 33rd Annual UNCF Walk/Run for Education will take place on Saturday, August 15, from 8:00 a.m.- noon at Wolfe Park on Columbus’s historic near east side.

The event was originally developed to engage the Columbus community in raising money for UNCF to support not only its 37-member historically black colleges and universities, (HBCUs) but the more than 1,200 Columbus-area students attending college on a UNCF scholarship. UNCF is a beacon of hope to those young people who need assistance financing their higher education goals and currently has scholars earning their degrees at not only HBCUs but other schools, including Ohio State University, Miami University, Kentucky State University and Xavier University.

The event traditionally hosts over 850 participants who all share one common goal, to connect deserving young people to higher education.
